Chess Cardinals Summer Chesterfield Open

SPACE IS LIMITED TO A MAX OF 60 PLAYERS.

Eligibility: Open to Everyone (no age restrictions)

Schedule & Rounds:

4 Rounds, USCF-Swiss format.

Round 1: 11:00 AM
Round 2: 12:30 PM
Round 3: 2:30 PM
Round 4: 4:00 PM

Time Control: G/30; +5 (Game in 30 minutes with a 5-second increment)

Sections:

The tournament has 4 sections based on USCF rating:

Elite Section: 1800+ USCF
Advanced Section: 1400–1799 USCF
Championship Section: 1000–1399 USCF
Novice Section: Under 1000 USCF

The TD reserves the right to revise section breaks or provide wild cards. Byes are allowed in any round as long as you let us know at least 1 round in advance.

Entry Fees:

Early Bird: $10 if registered by midnight on July 18th
Regular: $15 from July 19th onwards
We accept online payment or credit card on-site. No Cash Transactions.

(Ties for individual placements will be broken using Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative, and Cumulative Opp.)

Mandatory Requirement: Please bring a valid USCF membership ID number for registration. Additional details on how to apply online for a USCF membership can be found at Chess Cardinals. Our team can also help you get a membership on-site. New Female Chess Players can get up to a 50% discount on their membership.

Directions & Logistics

Parking: Recommended in front of the UPS STORE or SEOUL TACO.
Entrance: Ground floor through the main big glass doors.
SIGNS: Look for the Chess Cardinals banner.
Restrooms: Ground floor near the emergency EXIT (separate for MEN/WOMEN). Restroom keys are required; please look for the "RESTROOM KEYS" sign on the wall to locate them.

Photo/Video Consent Agreement

By registering for Chess Cardinals tournaments, participants, caregivers, and parents grant full permission to Chess Cardinals to use photographs, video, and/or audio recordings of them and/or their children taken during events in publications, news releases, online, and in other communications related to the mission of Chess Cardinals. To ensure privacy, images will not be identified using personal identifying information without written approval.

Anyone attending who does not wish to have their image recorded should make their wishes known to the organizer in writing prior to the event and include a photograph for identification purposes (held in confidence). No registrants are entitled to compensation for appearances in such materials. By registering, you also grant Chess Cardinals and the US Chess Federation the right to lawfully use photos on websites, social media, e-newsletters, and public media for promotion and advertising, releasing both organizations from any claims related to libel, slander, or invasion of privacy.
